Darnise Carter is a native of Fredericksburg, Virginia, a Virginia State University Alumni and an avid volunteer and mentor in the local community. She is an advocate for prison and justice reform,  especially for her fiancé Shawn L. Williams.

Darnise is a proud mother and grandmother, fondly known as "GaGa" and in her spare time, loves to spend time  with her grandson Kaiden, family, and friends, read inspirational stories and poems, and be among nature.

Darnise has been a FailSafe-ERA volunteer over a year and is now the Executive Assistant to the CEO as well as the go to person to get things done.
