Toastmaster’s program gives local youth a second chance

Young students participate in pilot program that addresses incarceration issues

Fredericksburg, Va. –  FailSafe-ERA President and CEO Juanita Shanks recently completed a four-week pilot program at a local elementary school, in which children were guided, coached and counseled to help them identify and cope with the many issues that surround young children who are affected by incarceration. Fredericksburg, Va. – Failsafe-ERA, a local non-profit organization that assists returning citizens (formerly incarcerated inmates) and their families reenter local communities, recently received a $2,000 Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) “Power of Change” award.
