FailSafe's Annual Dress for Success at our local Men's Wearhouse was both intimate and a success. The Store Manager, Kelvin Jones, greeted everyone with a warm smile and his staff brought in dunkin donuts. Kelvin's presentation style was more like a conversation and made it easy for FailSafe participants to join in.
The boys learned an array of information from learning how to different knots on silk ties to three staple pieces every man ought to have in his closet. Mr. Jones was great, he took a mentor approach and shared both lived experiences and wisdom with our youth.

Clean. Pressed. Polished.
That was the lesson that Kelvin Jones passed along to James and Isaiah, two teens in Failsafe-ERA's Youth Group at Sunday's Dress For Success event.
Jones, who manages the Men’s Warehouse location in Central Park, hosted the pair for a private lesson in confidence, style and perception. The teens were introduced to wool suits, cotton shirts and silk neck ties, walking them through the basics of how each should fit and feel.
“It’s all about finding your style, and making sure you’re comfortable in that. Allow yourself to be open to different options,” Jones told the teens.
But with that lesson in style also came substance.
Confidence. Eye contact. Posture.
Jones provided several interview tips, broke down the sales process and explained how tailored clothing, even business casual, could open doors that streetwear and sneakers couldn’t.
“You’re selling yourself,” Jones explained.
Sunday’s event was the second year that the Men’s Warehouse hosted the Dress for Success event, and both Jones and Failsafe-ERA Youth Group Leader Brenda Amaya want to expand the scope for future iterations.
Until then, Jones assured both teens he’d be around to answer any questions, just so long as it was focused on fashion.
“Call me about anything clothing. I don’t know nothing about video games!”
