As the saying goes, 'No man is an island' - everyone needs support and a shoulder to lean on especially in difficult times. Failsafe-ERA’s Caring Connections Support Group provides a secure and caring haven during times of hardship caused by a family member that is incarcerated.
You are invited to join our group facilitated discussions where family members can learn techniques on how to properly grieve the separation of their incarcerated loved ones. We teach how to apply sustainable practices that empower you to address various challenges that may arise from shame that is associated with a loved one being incarcerated. Members are encouraged to share concerns, develop and/or improve coping skills, and to manage stressors created by incarceration. One of our primary focuses is building and maintaining a network of people that you can trust and fall back on in times of difficulty. A network of people to turn to for advice and encouragement when faced with tough decisions. You are reminded that reaching out to others you are not dealing with the situation alone. Our group networking can provide a source of strength for you to draw from which will enable you to be more helpful to your family member that is incarcerated. If you are looking for a place to find a good listener, someone that identifies with a similar situation, a group of people that can help you to see the same problem in different ways or give a more complete picture of the situation, join us at Failsafe-ERA’s Caring Connections Support Group. The Group meets the Third Saturday of the month at 10:00am. For more information please contact Pastor Phyllis at www.failsafe-era.org or 540- 479-3021.
