The Anchor, Volume 1, Issue 6 August, 2019

The Board Corner

My name is Donna Clark and I am the Vice President of Member Services for the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) which is in Fredericksburg, VA. I have been an association executive my whole career. Previously, I worked for the American Bankers Association (ABA) in Washington, D.C. I have been constantly amazed at the volunteerism displayed in member-based organizations. People give selflessly of their time and talents. Several years ago, I took over management of the ATSS Foundation (which we like to refer to as the heart of the association) and I became even more impressed with the way in which people gave back to a cause that they truly believed in.

About a year and a half ago our former communications director introduced me to Juanita and the Fail-Safe ERA organization. I was so impressed with their work and specifically Juanita’s passion. I, as so many others, have family affected by incarceration, and I truly believe that we owe it to society to do our best to try to help those individuals become useful members of society again. I was recently asked to join the Fail-Safe ERA’s Board of Directors and manage their Development and Fundraising Committee - it is a position I do not take lightly. I am hopeful that we can grow this organization so that we can make a positive impact on our community.

Interested in donating to our organization? Give me a call at (540) 850-9869.

Corner of Inspiration

A note is from one of the children who attends our ECHIPS program, that has been affected by incarceration. This month we will be providing school supplies and mindfulness activities to children affected by incarceration.
