I am honored to sit with Chaplain Jack Richards to hear his thoughts on Second Chance opportunities for those returning from incarceration. as Chaplain of the Rappahannock Regional Jail, Chaplain Jack has been able to witness inmates released to never return and inmates that return two, three, four maybe five times until they do what's necessary to make a change. Because of his experience I thought it would benefit our audience to hear Chaplain Jack's views.
Chaplain Jack has initiated life skills programs that focused on preparing for life after incarceration. As a believer with a heart for God and Gods children, Chaplain encouraged returning citizens to join prayer and bible study groups to continue the healing and changes that would advance them towards a victorious life. Following up on that advise, Chaplain Jack and former inmates started the Christian Brothers Transition Program and later the Christian Sisters Transition Program, with a mission to serve men and women as they transition from incarceration to lead abundant life in Christ Jesus.
Soon Chaplain Jack and Mrs. Juanita Shanks, CEO and Founder of Failsafe would join in their commitment to serve and support returning citizens. There's a rich history of collaboration, fellowship and friendship that has benefited returning citizens favorably with second change opportunities.
If you are not supporting returning citizens, I pray the past month video series have purposed in your heart to advance second chance opportunities. Enjoy...Don't forget to hit that share button.
